Kirsten Steedman is a social impact leader with a strong commitment to creating systemic change and fostering thriving, inclusive communities. As Head of Social Impact at Coronation, she leads the development and delivery of strategies that create measurable community outcomes while aligning social value with commercial objectives. Kirsten brings deep expertise in cross sector partnerships, place based approaches, and innovative models that drive long term systems change.
With over a decade of experience in the property sector, Kirsten has held senior roles at Stockland and Lendlease, working across complex, large scale, city shaping developments. At Stockland, she played a leading role in the integration of social sustainability across major projects, including the successful multi billion dollar Waterloo redevelopment. Her work encompassed embedding social and affordable housing outcomes and place based impact into the winning development bid strategy.
During her time at Stockland, Kirsten also authored the organisation’s Affordable Housing White Paper and provided group wide training to embed Stockland’s sustainability target of creating $1 billion in social value by 2030 within each project. At Lendlease, Kirsten was responsible for the national establishment and implementation of FutureSteps, a shared value initiative designed to empower vulnerable people by increasing access to housing and support services through partnerships with community organisations. She oversaw the delivery of grant funding ranging from $20,000 to $2 million.
Kirsten also led strategic stakeholder engagement and community development across major projects within the Retirement Living business at Lendlease. Acting as the key interface between government, communities, and project teams, she focused on strengthening relationships, building advocacy, and enhancing community connection and trust.
Kirsten also serves as a Non Executive Director at Shelter NSW, the state’s peak housing advocacy body, where she champions evidence based policy and practice to address housing insecurity. Her career reflects a deep commitment to collaboration, purpose driven leadership, and tackling complex social challenges through innovative, scalable, and commercially grounded solutions.
